OH-01: Cranley will challenge Chabot

Mon Dec 05, 2005 at 07:29:00 AM PDT

In scandal-plagued Ohio, Democrats have found another challenger to a marginal GOP-seat.

Cincinnati councilman John Cranley has announced that he takes on Rep. Steve Chabot in OH-01 (Hamilton County).

Cranley was the top vote getter in the council elections on Nov. 8th. He already ran against Steve Chabot in 2000, aged 26, and got 44,6% against Chabots 53%. He was the most successful challenger in Ohio that year.

The seat changed due to redistricting though as described in the Enquirer.

IIRC, that seat went marginally for Kerry in 2004, so it should be a prime target in 2006 with unpopular Bush and Taft to hang around Chabot's neck.
